Greetings gentles,

The Fall has come on the calendar but the weather man has not been informed here in Southern Calontir. We are still having 70 degree weather. I do hope this letter meets with your approval, If you have any articles that you would like to see published please send it to me. I am also seeking the gentles that would like to receive our newsletter. I can be reached at feltenbe@ipa.net or Ann Feltenberger, 406 SE 54h Lane, Lamar, Missouri 64759 or 417-682- 2039. Please let me hear from you. Maerwynn jenn.nemec@iuniverse.com, our president, would be glad to hear from you too.

As to the goings on in the guild --

At the Lilies War meeting it was proposed that we sell fabric at Kris Kinder and tell the populace a little about the fabrics we are selling: i.e. linen, silk, wool, cotton. We were thinking that it could be a way for us to educate the populace about fabric choice in a fun, conversational atmosphere and just think of all the fun we could have handling the goodies! There is a wholesale house in the KC area. I have heard that it exists and don't know where it is or what it is called. Would the Guild be interested in doing this? Could someone inform me of the name and location of the wholesale house? The fee is $25.00 for a booth. How do you feel about this fee, would you we willing for the guild to sponsor the booth? Could you work a short shift at the booth? It would be best if we could get a lot of people to work short shifts, take some time out of your shopping and talk to people about fiber.

It has been suggested that we be more visible at events. One of the ways we have talked about is having a "fiber booth" at events where we could bring our projects and show off what we're working on to the populace. How would you feel about demonstrating in a booth during an event?

Mistress Genevieve Penrose has suggested that we have a day long event with participants leaving with a finished project. There have been several topics bandied about for this, any suggestions for topics are welcome - PLEASE SUGGEST! This sounds like great fun and a great way to learn, plus get a new goodie. How do you feel about this idea? Would you be able to participate or teach?

A similar type of event, lasting 1/2 day at an event has been suggested. Some of the skills that we like to work with just don't fit into an hour and half or two hour classes. We could even have seminars that get you started in the morning, you could carry the project with you from class to class and then get back together at the end of the day for discussion finishing. Either at RUSH or a special event. We would make sure of advance notice to the guild so that you can plan your day. Would you be able to participate or teach?

"Build a Garb" classes focusing on the skin our construction and materials of a garb focusing on correct fibers used, such as Middle Eastern garb.

The Guild needs to be more of a focal point during the Lilies War. Would you be willing to demonstrate your particular area of interest while manning the booth? Any ideas for adding to your visibility would be great. We're thinking of setting particular days for particular projects. (For example, Monday: spinning day, Tuesday: felting, etc.) How do you feel about this? The weather is always a factor so maybe we should consider what projects we could do that are weather independent?

Our President informs me that Mistress Dejaniera de la Millecouer says that we are going to have a tent similar to the RUSH ones in that area at the Lilies War and that we are going to work on being more a part of the period merchants area. That should be great! Any participation from the guild members would be more than welcome. I'm already looking forward to seeing you all at the Lilies War!
