December 14th, 2002 (Kris Kensor)

Hello Everyone,

Just getting back online after the holiday rush. At Kris Kinder our meeting had the following outcomes.

Dejaniera will be in charge of our effort to make storage bags for regalia.

Amanda will be in charge of our efforts to make oil cloth type floor cloths to go under the kneeling pillows.

I will be in charge of organizing our effort to make napkins for regalia.

A group project such as a cloak was put on hold.

Keep in mind that these three efforts are not the sole responsibility of the person listed. Everyone will need to help if and as they are able. Please get with one of us if you have the time to help.

As for my part in the napkin effort. I am planning to weave enough white cloth in a medieval weave for at least 6 napkins. That will allow for one each for the king and queen and prince and princess with one spare each. I will not be adding any color so that embroiderers can add their expertise to the effort. We can also use the services of a good hand sewer (sp?) to finish the napkins. If any flat weavers would like to help with the weaving please get in touch with me. Also any embroiderers and sewers interested in working on this idea please let me know. Remember for this project, although period napkins would have most likely been plain white or with a simple border stripe, we are doing these for an SCA environment and would like them lavishly decorated with Calontir symbolizm. Please bring me your ideas.

Dejaniera and Amanda,

Please send us a note and let us know what your plans and needs are for the projects you are working on. As for me I "Have sewing machine, will travel." Just let me know when.

A further note - If you would like to apply for any guild office please get me your letter of intent. Elections are at Lilies.

In Service,
Luzia do Valongo
